Robert See, M.D.
Dr. See received his medical degree and completed his internship at the Medical College of Ohio. After medical school, he went to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where he received his ophthalmology residency training at the Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine.
Dr. See completed fellowships in ocular immunology, pathology and oncology at the University of Southern California’s Doheny Eye Institute working with Dr. Narsing Rao, who is one of the leading researchers in ophthalmic pathology and uveitis. He received the National Eye Institute/Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology Travel Grant Award for his work while at Doheny. Following his research in ocular immunology, he completed his vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the prestigious Duke University Eye Center, a world-class center repeatedly ranked among the top training programs in the country. While at Duke he trained with Dr. Cynthia Toth, a leading expert in macular translocation surgery for age-related macular degeneration, and he received the James and Virginia Hornaday Fellow Award for excellence in clinical care, ethics, and research.
Dr. See is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and the American Uveitis Society. He has been an investigator in a number of clinical research trials including anti-VEGF therapy for neovascular macular degeneration and steroid treatment of uveitis. Results of his research have been published in acclaimed medical journals such as Ophthalmology, Archives of Ophthalmology, American Journal of Ophthalmology, British Journal of Ophthalmology, and Retina.
